The NJROTC Salvation Army Can Food Drive will be from November 30 - December 17. The Salvation Army needs assistance in collecting cans, and our contributions in past years have made a difference for many families during the Christmas Holidays. With the economy continuing to be bad, all food banks have been depleted and are in dire need of contributions. We have already helped the Golden Harvest Food Bank, for which they are most appreciative. In the past, Silver Bluff's participation has been the difference between success and failure of the Salvation Army Food Drive. This is a great way for us to help our community in a time when so many are in need. Bring in cans to your classes, as some teachers will reward you with a homework pass for every five cans brought in. Let's make this another successful year.
* Students who know in advance that they will be out for exams must get advance administrative approval. The request must be in writing, signed by the parent and submitted to the principal. The request for semester exams must be made by Tuesday, November 24, 2015.
* Aside from prior-approved absences, the only absences that will result in approval for making up the exam will be those accompanied by a doctor’s excuse.
* Parents may not sign students out during the exam block. It is a disruption to others when students are being signed out during exams, so the student will be released only at the conclusion of the exam.
Please understand that this policy reflects Aiken County School Policy and reflects the importance of exams that count 20% of the student’s semester grade in each course.
